Babar Azam Scripts History, Becomes 2nd Batter To Achieve ‘This’ Feat After Virat Kohli

Pakistan’s white-ball captain, Babar Azam, has joined Virat Kohli as the only second player to score 4000 runs in T20I cricket. Babar accomplished this milestone during the fourth T20I against England.

When Babar Azam reached his 13th run against England in the 4th T20I at Kennington Oval in London, he completed 4000 runs in T20I cricket. It took him 112 innings to achieve the milestone, while Kohli achieved the same in 107 innings.

Babar Azam opened the innings with Mohammad Rizwan today, as Saim Ayub did not play. Babar scored 36 runs off 22 balls with five boundaries and a six.

Earlier, Babar had mentioned that he would be batting at number 3 in the T20 World Cup, with Saim Ayub and Rizwan expected to open the innings.

Babar Azam’s performance was crucial in Pakistan’s strong start. He and Mohammad Rizwan built a solid foundation with a 59-run partnership for the first wicket.

Playing his 119th T20I and 112th innings, Babar Azam‘s current run tally stands at an impressive 4,023 runs, maintaining an average of 41.05 and a strike rate of 130.15. Babar is leading Pakistan in the T20 World Cup in the USA and West Indies.

Pakistan Lose 4th T20I vs England

Pakistan were all out for 157 runs batting first. Usman Khan who made 38 runs from 21 balls was the top scorer for the visitors.

In response, the hosts made a mockery of the chase, getting past the finish line inside 16 overs.
